My mother's oldest brother c.1920. This is the uncle I never met; he served in Gen. Patton's Third Army and died from a sniper's bullet in April 1945. Made for the April 2012 Swirly Hues Challenge, this is actually a 12x12 canvas, mostly using components from the amazingly versatile April kit, along with a few pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard and burlap from my favorite Unicorn, Maggi. I made the butterfly on the ATC from Vicky's NSD tutorial, substituting a Tim Holtz die for the punch and eyelash trim for the pearls.
