Journaling reads In South Eastern Turkey on the Syrian border we decided to dress for the desert heat. The local people that live in these beehive mud brick houses were more than eager to lend us some clothing. As you can see we continue to travel a wee bit off the beaten path. The temperature this day was around 45 degrees celcius....HOT. The clothing we borrowed was surprisingly cool and inside the mud houses was actually refreshingly cool! (We were served tea and watermelon) BTW. this area between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers is known as Mesopotamia and ever since high school history I have wondered just where that is! Now I know.
