Description: Wow. I haven't done a layout with "real" journaling in a LONG time. I took this shot of our "backyard" yesterday as my family and I went for a ride on the backroads as we usually do. It got me to thinking just how much I have learned to love living out here in the country. TFL!

Journaling:
Living in the country was something I never thought I would get used to, but over the years it has really grown on me. One of my favorite things about living out here is the scenery. The natural landscape is so beautiful it takes my breath away each and every time I see it. The cows, the mountains, the miles and miles of grass fields. It’s so organic. So real. I adore the fact that all I have to do is walk about 50 yards up the road from our home and this is what I get to see. Pasture. Macadamia nut fields. Coffee fields. Tractors on the side of the road. Stretches of lush mountains hidden by misty clouds. Then you turn around and drive 5 miles down the road and you’re just a feet away from the Pacific Ocean. Still, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would end up here on this side of the island. In the country. But here I am. And what surprises me the most, is that I embrace it. I even love it. Do I miss the conveniences of living “in town” where there is a McDonalds around the corner and “real” grocery stores? Of course. Do I miss midnight runs to WalMart and visiting my Dad at the drop of a hat? Most definitely. But I’m comfortable here. I am happy here. And in the 8 years that I have lived here I have come to one conclusion: country living suits me just fine.
