Description: Another heritage lo of my grandmother. The journaling reads: After Ida left Harry, Bob began courting her. He was in the Navy and would write letters to her from wherever he was stationed. He would visit her when he was on leave, sometimes bringing her gifts. And though they really didn't have much in common, when he wrote to Ida asking her to come to California to marry him, she felt that this was a man she could live with, so she agreed. They took the bus to Reno, NV. And this photo was taken right after their courthouse wedding.
And since so many are asking, here's the rest of the story...She and Bob remained happily married for the rest of his life. She just turned 85 last week and still manages to live on her own (with daily help from my aunt). I took my dd to meet her back in 2001 and I asked her about her life and took 12 pages of notes. And I continue to note anything she tells me about her life or her parents. This started from my genealogy research, but obviously it crosses over well!

The design for this lo was inspired by Scrap Candy and Elizabeth Carney. Thank you ladies! And TFL!
