Countdown   (3 comments, 16 views) Tuesday, 27 November 2007
Well it's one week until Tim goes under the knife. Today he went for Advanced Admissions so he should be all set. I'm sure things will go well and he'll be up and at it in no time. Kinda been thinking how will I sleep without him there with me? I usually don't sleep well when he gets up and I discover he's missing. I will take a vacation day on Dec 4th and then take Dec 11-14 off, that is approximately the time he will be home.

If that were the only thing we were dealing with it wouldnt' be so bad, but of course, when you have children there is always something more. Mitch has been having a hard time at his Dad's. So he will be moving out to live with a friend and her family. I talked to her mother this past weekend and she allayed all my concerns. Mitchell turns 18 on Dec 4 and so he is an adult but still in HS. He needs to catch up on some credits so he can graduate in June with the rest of his class and by hook or crock I'm going to do what I can (even 330 miles away) to help him do so. I've been in contact with his guidance counselor via email I will be emailing him again and letting him know what Mitchell has been dealing with and that he'll be moving.

Then there is this lovely place we live. We'll have challenges with that as well. With Tim having a colostomy bag I'm not sure he'll be able to bathe in the tub anymore. Yes you got it we do not have a shower! Another thing I am hoping to find/get is a recliner. I know when I had my surgery I had a heck of a time getting out of bed, but it was tons easier getting up from a recliner. Back then I had a reclining sofa so that worked. So I keep my eye on freecycle and craigslist hopefully before he returns home.

Well time for me to head out if you pray keep Tim in your prayers and the rest of us too!

Hi! I'll be thinking and praying for you guys. I'm sure Tim will do just fine. You need to submit your story to Home Makeovers and see if they can help you get a shower installed for Tim. Any chance that Mitch would come and stay with you guys after he is out of school? Take care my friend! .colleen

I think colleens idea is a good one! I just wanted to pop in and say I'm thinking of you and wishing you all the best!
