Mid August???   (1 comment, 21 views) Saturday, 18 August 2007
Okay, can you believe it's past mid-august already?  School starts here in a week and 1/2!!!!  Tim's mom likes to get the grankids school supplies, so when she asked what Noah needed I said he has a basic list at home, but often in Jr. High they don't tell them what they need until classes start.  She gave us some money so we picked up some school supplies today at Meijer.  I really like Meijer because it has groceries as well as clothes, sporting goods, electronics etc etc.  Like a super Wal-Mart, except it's closer to us than the super wal-mart.

Mitch went back to South Milwaukee last Saturday.  It's funny it seems like it's been longer than a week that he's been gone!  Miss him lots, but he started rehearsal on Monday for A Chorus Line.  We are hoping to go to that one as it probably is his last performance with the Modjeska Youth Theater.  We have to wait and see what treatment Tim will be doing in late Sept early Oct.  Hopefully we'll know more this week.  He had a PET scan last Wednesday and is to see the oncologist this week.  He is set up to have his 5th cycle of Chemo, but may not have it if the PET scan shows improvement.  I'm not holding my breath on that one, because he's not supposed to see the oncologist 'til that Friday.  Tim is keeping a great attitude and most are impressed with his positive attitude.  He pretty much says there is not much I can do about it and having an angry, crappy attitude about it surely won't help matters.

I've been considering picking up a  part time job to help out more financially.  Thing is I don't have a whole lot of time to do a PT job.  I'd have to work either Thurs or Fri nights and Sat. Sunday would be a bit iffy as that is Tim's first day of work for the week and he works til 6:30 pm so if they could work around that it'd be okay.  I was at Michael's Arts and Crafts the other day just browsing because traffic was heavy so I didn't bother going home to get caught in traffic and end up spending all that time not getting very far only to have to come back to that side of town to get Tim from work.  Anywho, on the way out I noticed that they had sign hiring instructors and of course one of them was for scrapbooking.  I thought I really should go apply, then I thought they probably have a app online and I could include my link to my gallery here to show them what I can do.  Well haven't filled it out yet and work offered OT today.  So I did OT for four hours today and wonder whether or not I should apply at Michael's.  Part of me is afraid I'll spend my check on scrapbooking supplies so I wouldn't be getting that far ahead anyway.  So we'll just have to see how it goes.

Mitch had his senior pictures done here and I can't wait to get them and show everyone!  She really did an awesome job photographing him.  I bought only a small package, but hope to go back to get some other poses before the holidays.  Hard to believe he'll be 18 in December! and graduating in June.  He really wants to attend a college that offers Musical Theater.  He's been in it for 4 yrs now so he's pretty sure it's what he wants to do.  A Chorus Line will be his 14th musical at The Modjeska Youth Theater.

My dear friend Barb sent me a bracelet in the mail.  It is tribute bracelet, I guess that's what you might call it.  It has colored beads and each color represents a type of cancer.  I didn't realize there are so many different kinds of cancer.  It has a silver charm ribbon in the middle and then each bead color alternates.  One is for colon cancer when Tim read it he said he was upset that there wasn't a rectal cancer color bead.  I said well there is colon and he said that's not the same, there in different parts of the body.  Then he says I chose brown for rectal cancer.  There he goes again with the goofty smart aleckiness!  I just laughed.  So I wear it on the same wrist as my Scrapstrong bracelet from here!  If you haven't gotten your scrapstrong bracelet or Tshirt please consider it as sb.com donates a portion to cancer research.

Well that's our latest news, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

I love Tim's attitude and humor. It's the best way to handle the stuff that has been dumped on him.

Good luck with the job decision. Personally, I would rather work for just one company and do OT, than to work at 2 companies. I know that I would spend my paycheck at M's if I worked there.
