Wow can you believe it is only 10 days until Christmas Eve? Time sure is flying by fast.
Tim has been out of the hospital for 3 days now and I sure haven't gotten much done. I did finish Mitch's layout so I could enter it at the LSS. They seemed to be impressed with it when I turned it in, we'll see how many other impressive layouts are there by tomorrow. On the 16th we can start voting on our favorites. The top three win gift certificates to the LSS.
Tim is doing pretty good we've had some frustration with the skin barrier of the colostomy and today he saw the Chemotherapy Oncologist who said in a month we'll start you on radiation. Tim was really hoping the surgery would take care of it, but I said they are taking aggressive measures because you are so young and they want to make sure it is all gone. The oncologist also told us what was on the pathology report. Apparently the tumor was much larger than we thought. 2 3/4 inches by about 2 1/4 inches. After 4 cycles of Chemo we were told it had shrunk to half the size. But apparently that was a larger size tumor if the above was what was taken out of him. He still had another 4 cycles after that PET scan report. 7 of 23 lymph nodes were affected. The oncologist thought he looked pretty good for only being out the hospital for three days. We're keeping positive I tell Tim that things will get better, we'll get used to the colostomy appliance and everything will become second nature. My mom and Dad have been dealing with my dad's colostomy for 18 yrs now, so I've called my mom a lot this past week and 1/2.
Hopefully this weekend I can get my Christmas cards finished and addressed, maybe even mailed!
Tim's supervisor called him at the hospital the other day and asked if he would mind if they adopted us a family in need for the holidays. He said no he didn't mind and was very flattered. He called me at work and let me know and he sounded all choked up. Later his supervisor called and asked the boys' ages. I said to my mom it's kind of funny because the LSS I go to is collecting food and gifts for a family they adopted and I took some food and a gift about 2 weeks ago. What a blessing this is for us!
Looking forward to Mitch arriving next Sat!! Noah is leaving on Thurs. to visit with his Dad. It will be strange to have the switch!
Well that is our latest news. I want to say thank you to everyone for keeping us in their thoughts and prayers, your friendship is a blessing to us too!
Happy Holidays
Carmen
