March 23 Round up   (42 views) Thursday, 23 March 2006

Oh boy!  It's been a while!

Lots of layouts since my last roundup!

1. Nestled - Eh.  I used some gorgeous metal letters.  But didn't have wide enough ribbon.  Must get wide enough ribbon.  Someday.  Otherwise I'm really happy with the layout.  Didn't post for privacy reasons.

2. Merry Christmas.  One of my favorites.  Just love the tiny pictures.  And it was DH's idea to use them.

3. A Visit from Santa Claws.  More 'evidence' that I need a wishblade ;-)  I had fun with this one.  It's playful... so I journaled by hand.

4. a great visit.  My MIL is going to love this.  It makes me sad to *know* that my kids are unlikely to remember their great grandfather when they are old enough to truly appreciate my scrapbooks.  It's the whole reason for scrapbooks, I know.  But it still makes me very sad.  Maybe Grampie will live 'til he's 100+ but... well...

5. a Man.  Ever have a layout that you just have to do?  See a quote or hear a song or whatever had *have* to do one?  This is one of those for me.  It's very special to *me*.  I don't think DH 'gets it' but that's OK.  It's *my* scrapbook.

6. retreat. relax. refresh. My challenge layout for critique group 13.  I'm happy with it.  Not as happy as I thought I would be although I can't put my finger on why.  This is the natural progression from all the collage frames that DH would just love to have all over our walls LOL

7. Party. One of my favorites so far... which sort of surprises me.  I pulled these papers out because of DD's pink shirt and the pink curtains.  And they really work for the layout.  She's going to hate it when she sees it.  It's much to girly for her!

8. little RED, we CU. 8x10 layout that I made for my best friend after her baby, with initials R.E.D, was born.  We met at Cornell.... 'Big Red', C.U.  Get it?  LOL.  Yeah, probably have to be a Cornellian to be amused by it.

9. Thank you card.  Quick thank you card for a student.  I know I have pre-printed Thank yous somewhere but I sure can't find them.

Now at 53.5 layouts for the year.  That's 22% of my goal of 240.  And the year is 22% over.  Staying on track.

I think I'm doing OK shopping-wise.  I've spent $14 since my last update.  I got star brads and red brads that I 'needed' for layouts that were done but not quite done.  And I got a grab bag from JoAnn's that was most definitely worth the 9.99 it cost.  I've used quite a bit from it already.  I'm a little over 3 weeks in the hole... so I'm scrapping more than I'm spending.  And my sister gave me a $25 gift card so if I limit myself to Michael's I can shop without going deeper :-)

I need to figure out what to do with the kids school pictures.  Aside from that, I'm ready to take the leap ..... into 2006!
