Last week we discussed the total disorganization that has overcome my wallet. Since I posted that column I have managed to add a post-it note reminding me to pick up my contact lenses, 2 tickets for the Grandparent’s Day Lunch at Breuklyn’s school and a handful of quarters that I stole from Brad’s secret stash of change. It’s a never ending battle between me and the items that are magnetically drawn to me.

I recently bought a new wallet. As much as I enjoyed the formula stains and remnant smudgy sticky fingerprints that Maddux left after he confiscated my wallet and hid it in his room for 3 days, I decided that it was time to upgrade. I lovingly refer to my beautiful butterscotch colored wallet as my grown-up wallet. My new grown-up wallet actually has enough room to hold all of the stuff that a 28-year-old Mom of three kids can accumulate. It’s a very exciting prospect.

My kids are inquisitive. The Spanish Inquisition comes to mind frequently at my house. Now that Breuklyn has a whole new location in which she can collect new questions, things are just starting to get exciting around here. On the drive to school on Friday she asked 16 questions. I counted. It’s a 4 minute drive. I counted that too.

Friday was Breuklyn’s first day of Kindergarten. To say that I was a complete and total wreck would be an understatement. I don’t know why I even bother with all of the worry and lack of sleep because she was amazing. She was brave, totally calm and (most importantly) totally adorable. My children think I am amazing. In their eyes every grilled cheese sandwich is worthy of a 5 star rating and even in my snowflake print pajama pants they claim I am “bee-yootiful.” This is one of the many perks of being a mom.
