So I went to the Harry Potter book release party at Border's on July 20. It was so much fun! My sister-in-law and I had a great time hanging out and waiting for our turn to buy our copies of the 7th and final book in the Harry Potter series. I even had a man stop by and hit on me. I totally loved that!
I am on Chapter 11 right now, and I love it. I plan to go back to the very first book when I finish this one and just take my time and read them all over again. Being the Mother of 2 small boys doesn't leave me a whole lot of time for anything I enjoy, so I didn't have time to re-read the 6th book like I wanted to before starting the seventh. Ah well, I remember most things!
I am sad that the series has ended, but what a ride it has been. I first became interested in Harry Potter when I noticed my students carrying the first published book into my class with them. Now, before I stayed home to raise my children, I was an Elementary PE Teacher. So for kids to bring a book to my class was unheard of. I had to know what the fuss was about, plus I thought it would be another great way to connect with my students. So, I checked out a copy from the school library and I was just as hooked as they were.
Anyone else out there reading this fabulous book?
