The SCRAP RUT is over   (1 comment, 75 views) Wednesday, 30 August 2006

I am thankful to be back here enjoying the company at SB.C.  I have been away for many months, and am just now coming out of a scrapbook rut.  Let me explain...

I found out in March that I was pregnant with our second baby.  The nausea and tiredness just really kept me on a downer.  I had no desire to scrap and would just go to crop nights with my great friends to sit and chat while they all scrapped.  I even quit coming to SB.C.  It seemed like anytime I wanted to reply to a post, or start a new thread, it was all negative.  I got myself out of here as fast as I could, because I had no intention of bringing negativity to this place.  It's too upbeat around here to be the one to be on a downer!

We sold our house in May, so I began packing all of our things.  We moved from Sacramento back to Las Vegas on July 2.  Our house wasn't ready for us to move into until the first week of August, so we lived with my in-laws during the entire month of July.  I am thankful we all get along and that they are truly wonderful people.

Then, during July, I find out that I was one of the winners of the My Place Referral Program!  I won a $50 gift certificate to the superstore!  But even that didn't get me motivated to scrap.

Last week, I realized that all I had left to unpack in our new house was the guest room and the dining room.  But then I made an even bigger realization...I now have a room to call my own SCRAP ROOM!  All of my supplies are still packed away, but that really got me thinking about scrapping again.  I was very excited, and now I can't wait to get all of my stuff out again.  I have forgotten what I even have, and I need to go through everything to keep from buying duplicates.  I even watched the Scrapbook Faire on QVC all day last week!  I only bought one thing, but that was the only thing I have bought related to scrapping since March!

I am so waiting for SB.C to get the new Karen Foster Halloween papers in again.  I am on e-mail notification and when it gets here, it's mine, yo!  My gift certificate will be blown in an instant!

It feels good to be back in scrap mode, but the biggest disappointment for me was not entering the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooker of the Year Contest.  I had 3 amazing layouts done for it, and had my essay all worked out.  Then BOOM.  SCRAP RUT.  Ah well, there is always the next great contest here at SB.C.

I am glad to be back with my scrap happy neighbors here, and I really look forward to getting to know more of you.  It's so fun here, how can you not have a good time?

Take care to all,

Carrie
