So I did not make the first resolution this year. Why not? Because I never keep them. However, once I got back from a mini-vacation, I realized I needed to eat better (note-I didn't say diet) After eating and eating and eating during the holidays and having snacks and good food at the cabin, I simply can't stand to eat much any more. More fat and junk food that is. What have I been eating, you ask? Oatmeal, Kashi products http://www.kashi.com/ ( this stuff will clean you out, I am telling ya) fruit smoothies, yogurt, water, salad...etc. I feel healthier. As far as exercising goes....well, it is bad when a 43 year old can't hike a hill without getting out of breath and her buttocks/hips and legs just a burning coming up that hill. Hiked 3 days while at the cabin last week and it shows how out of shape I have become.
Today, the agenda was hiking. Our day began with a stop at Cracker Barrell for coffee, water, oatmeal and banana. Lunch was a peanut butter and banana on whole wheat. And hike we did. Seven miles total. My sister giggled behind me as I struggled up a mole-hill, taunting all the way, "WORK IT! WORK IT!" Just remember dear sister, I had a Kashi bar for a snack so you go right ahead and get down wind right behind me. "Feel the burn, baby, feel the burn!"
