1 in 50 .. NEW AUTISM STATS :(   (1 comment, 49 views) Tuesday, 01 July 2008
I heard this form an Autism advocate in my area. It scared me.  How can this be???? How can it be 1 in 50 children will be diagnosed with something on the Autism spectrum???  Needless to say, I was angry and sad at 1 in 150 and now it's wayyy higher...  I cry as I type this...
I should see this coming as the pms that I get asking me Autism related questions has been going up.  Not sure if it's because more people know Sean has Autism or not, though.  If you at all suspect something might not be "typical" with you child, definitely go with your gut (ask your pediatrician)!! You are more than welcome to drop me a private message or refer people to me who have any questions.  I don't claim to be a doctor or have any special degree, however I am willing to listen and offer up my thoughts about your situation.   I know how scary it can be and possibly the denial, I have gone throw every single feeling about this.
I live with this every day and I have seen Sean go through tremendous growth in just the past month!
Thanks for reading my blog.
Pam

Hey Pam, I just wanted to say to you, how much I respect your fight for your son. Through your pages, journaling and blogging I can see and feel the LOVE you have for Sean. I personally have not experienced Autism, but because of you I am learning about this terrible disease that is sooo greatly affecting our children. Thanks for all the education you are giving on this subject. With the fast growth of this disease it is only a matter of time befor my family will be affected. Sean is a blessed little boy to have you as a Mother and I am sure you feel even more blessed to have him for your son....God Bless You Both.....Delaina
