The Angels were with him!   (3 comments, 13 views) Tuesday, 24 June 2008

Well, if life worked out the way I had planned it I would be married to Johnny Depp, I'd be a famous broadway actress with a book deal in the works.

If life fell into place like we had planned, I'd be in San Antonio right this very minute. The trip that we have been planning for over four months has been postponed...indefinately!

You see, it goes like this...Our Vacation Bible School was last week. It ended on Friday with the big cookout/family night. We had already made plans not to go, due to the tremendous amount of packing that still needed to be done.

Well, Wednesday night my back went out during the last class (I taught crafts) and all that bending and stretching didn't help my prior back condition. Luckily, our Chiropractor attends our church and was in the building. After 45 minutes on the craft room floor, it came to light that I needed the big adjustment table in the office. So, off we went. I made it home after midnight but, I could walk a little better than before.

Welcome to Thursday! We all made it to VBS for what was to be our final organized class night. The tradition goes like this...during game time each class is loaded onto a trailer filled with hay which is being pulled by one of our members tractors. While the lazy hayride is being enjoyed the Youth are strategically hidden with water balloons and water guns ready to ambush the kids.

Ok, here's the hard part. During the third round of kids, Adam, (my ds) was running to the tractor and with all the water on the pavement and his shoes, he lost his grip and slid under the front of the trailer and was run over by both the front and back sets of tires.  We were at the ER until after midnight. Sound familiar?

By the grace of God, he sustained no broken bones, no ligament damage and his ACL is in tact. He only has muscle and skins wounds. Those angels were working overtime because if he would have slid one foot further the wheels would have been right on his stomach and soft tissue area. He was able to walk without his crutches last night from the bathroom to his bed and tried it again this morning but ended up yelling for the crutches.

We will eventually reschedule the trip. But, I have thanked God more than once that he spared Adam from what could have happened.

WOW! God is OH-SO-GOOD!

Wow, I am glad to heard that your DS is alright. When we were 15, my BFF's father ran her over by accident and she is okay now, just a bad back. But I agree that the angels were with him.
