Some of my favorite winter memories are ones that most people wouldn't like very much.  We haven't got much snow here for the last few years, but there were about 5-6 years when we got a BIG snow (like 2 feet) at least once a year.  I always lived in the BOONIES (about 15 miles/20 minutes of country road from "town", and that town is only about 2500 ppl, so it's pretty isolated).

Anyway, we were in the country and our electric would go out for like 2 weeks at a time sometimes.  We always loved it though.  We would go sledding in our 2 feet of snow and play boardgames by lantern or candles.  It was great.  we had gas heat and a gas cooking stove, so we didn't have to worry about that.

I LOVE snow, and I wish we'd get some more here!
