Independence Day

July 4, 2008: Just got home from friend's house.  My DH and I took our grandson and nephew to a friend's house.  We ate wonderful food (you've never had BBQ until you have it in Oklahoma!).  Then we ate some more!  The kids shot off fireworks.  They live next to some folks that had some really BIG fireworks, so we got a two-in-one display!  Also, from where we sat, we could see the displays from two other cities off to the South and the East.  We had the most enjoyable evening.  My friend Pam and her DH and their daughter, are so special to us.

Tina and I scrapped until 1:30am.  My daughter joined us and we worked on invites to her friend's baby shower.  Some nights I just don't get much done, but Tina always does!

We are so blessed to have one more addition to our family last month, Lily Sue, be sure to check out the new pages I posted in my gallery.  She's so tiny and they are having some problem getting her to gain weight. But technically she wasn't due until June 28 (though she was born on June 13) so she's doing okay.  As of yesterday, she was 5 lbs. 15 oz.

Is there really anything better than grandkids?!  My grandson, Tayte is going through some major changes with his new baby sister.  Oh, don't get me wrong, he loves to give her face-smashing kisses, and calls her Lee-Lee (Lily).  But, I think he just doesn't understand why all of a sudden he is not the center anymore.  So he's starting doing little things to get attention.  My daughter decided that what was most important was that he know that he's still loved too.  She's trying to spend some time with just him.  But those of you that have more than one kid (not to mention a husband or significant other).  It's tough to find time.

I hope all of you had a great 4th.  And once again, remember, our servicemen and women.  No matter what you think of what's going on withour government, these people are looking out for us all over the world.  My own son, is not far, in Kansas.  My brother is in Iraq.  These are special folks.  They actually VOLUNTEER for this.  It really takes special folks to be able to go and fight for us, AND the families and friends they leave behind are required to "soldier" through the trials of handling the kids on their own, or saying goodbye "again".  Special thanks to ALL of you!

Okay, I don't do a regular blog, and then when I finally get around to it, I get really wordy!  Sorry about that.    But I gotta tell you, it's a great place to unload!
