Lesson #4: Connecting with scrapbookers online
As people become more closely connected via their computers, it can be fun to learn how to use web acronyms and smilies. Acronyms are identifier abbreviations made from two or more words in a phrase; formed by using the first letter of each word in the phrase. Typing takes time so acronyms are often used to replace lengthy phrases. Smilies are punctuation used to form “faces” that add a touch of emotion to conversations. Once learned, acronyms and smilies make typing and communicating quicker, easier and often more interesting. The following lists were complied so people could use them when communicating on the Scrapbook.com Message Boards/Forums. They can also be used with any other online communicating such as email or in chat rooms.
